Meet the Doctor - Liliane Papin
Liliane Papin, Ph.D, D.O.M (NM), licensed acupuncturist, Chinese Medicine herbologist and certified macrobiotic teacher, studied several years with renowned macrobiotic teacher Michio Kushi. Liliane lived for six years in Japan and studied acupuncture, Qi Gong and Oriental Medicine in China, Japan and the US.
She is a dynamic and engaging teacher with Daoist Traditions College of Medicine in Asheville, NC. Liliane has taught many seminars and health classes in the US, Japan and particularly in France, where she is a regular visiting faculty member at Les Temps du Corps, an important Qi Gong institute in Paris.
Liliane has published articles, short stories, regular columns and essays related to health, culture and environment in a variety of publications, including The Los Angeles Times, Japan Times, Science et Nature, Geo, Wingspan (ANA magazine), Hemispheres (United Airlines magazine) and Acupuncture Today.
Liliane came to Asheville in 2003, invited to teach and practice with the Atlantic University of Chinese Medicine, where she served as Dean of Student Affairs. Two years later, Liliane founded Kwan Yin Medicine to serve the holistic needs of the community through traditional acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy and educational seminars.
Liliane and her husband, Didier, a professional chef by training, work as a team. While Liliane offers treatment and healing modalities, Didier cooks wonderful healthy meals as a vegan personal chef. They co-teach cooking classes and a variety of seminars related to food and health.
